The 30a Community

So, what's the big deal about the 30a Community. Why do you see these 30A stickers, shirts, bags, hats, etc. all over the country.

30a was a scenic highway tucked away in the Florida panhandle. It was nothing more than a road that connected the Miramar Beach area to Panama City. There were a couple quiet communities 50 years ago that sat randomly up and down 30a that were nothing more than quiet fishing villages.

So, what's the big deal about the 30a Community. Why do you see these 30A stickers, shirts, bcags, hats, etc. all over the country. purpose of making paper. In time, St. Joe realized real estate was a better or a more prosperous investment than trees and paper. As a result, began developing real estate communities up and down 30a.

THey weren't the only ones. Other investors noticed the magic and felt they needed to sew some seeds along 30a. The first major development was Seaside, Florida. Seaside is most known for the Truman Show. If you haven't seen the Truman Show it's a must. The story is rather simple, but profound. A movie producer decides to develop a tv series based on the life of a person named Truman. Truman is ultimately born, and raised on a film set. Everyone in his life is an actor or actress. His school, his work, and everything else he does is nothing more than a plot to a movie. Although Truman has the freedom to live out his dreams, ultimately they are restricted based on his inability to leave the set. Well, what better set to create than Seaside, Florida. It's a magical community with a cute downtown and quaint side streets, beach access, etc.

Not long after Seaside became a hit, other communities developed their own Vibe. Rosemary Beach for example has more of a high end European design, Grayton Beach has more of an old town fishing village, etc. It's truly a fun experience driving from one community to the next.

Although each community has it's own vibe, it's also plastered with great stores, restaurants, bars, etc.

Most of 30a has water on all sides. The Gulf of Mexico spans the entire 27 or so mile length of the highway. However, about 5 miles directly north of 75% of the highway is the Choctowatchee Bay. The Bay ultimately extends from west of Destin to Point Washington. However, there is still a man made canal that connects Pt. Washington to the waters of Panama City Beach.

There are tons of opportunities to enjoy the water in the 30a area. Obviously you can enjoy time at the beach swimming, body surfing, renting a YOLO board, etc. However, the Bay offers tons of fun activities as well.
